The Patient Advocate Foundation has been providing resources for individuals facing challenging medical diagnoses since 1996. To complement its online and mail services, PAF hired Zco to create a mobile app to connect patients with insurance and healthcare assistance. The app, called My Resource Search, is available for the iPhone, iPad, and Android devices. The patient answers four simple questions to narrow down the exact help available. There are more than 35 assistive categories to choose from, harnessing the power of the National Uninsured and Underinsured Resource Directories. Services range from financial assistance for housing, utilities, and transportation to insurance policy options and medication help.
