Kindle Development Services
Amazon recently invited software developers to build and upload active content that
would be made available in their Kindle store. Zco Corporation is one of
a handful of developers that Amazon has approved to offer Kindle Development services.
As one of the largest mobile app developers in the world, Zco Corporation
is well poised to offer development services for the #1 bestseller on Amazon, the
Kindle.
Until recently, Amazon had welcomed authors and publishers to directly upload Kindle
apps in the online store through a self-service publishing platform. The
new Kindle Development Kit (KDK) now gives a select group of developers,
including Zco Corporation, access to programming interfaces, tools and documentation
to build Kindle apps including books, magazines, games and puzzles.
Amazon’s profit sharing system is similar to Apple’s in that developers suggest
pricing for their Kindle apps and then receive 70% of the revenue from the
sale of those applications. The only difference is, Amazon charges a 15¢ per megabyte
app/content delivery cost. Since it is estimated that over 3 million e-readers were
sold in 2009, Kindle Development is an opportunity tactical app developers
cannot ignore.
Zco Corporation’s Kindle development service will include both building and
marketing Kindle apps for their customers. Interested parties will pay for
development costs and in return they will own the Kindle apps and collect 100% of
the revenue from Amazon. Please hit the 'request a call' button to speak with a
Zco Corporation account rep about your Kindle development needs.
