On 10/21/10, Nielsen Company released results from a survey that they administered to over 5,000 tablet computer & eReader owners. The results indicated that the majority of users have already paid for content on their devices.

The survey revealed that 4% of U.S. households now own tablets. Of that, 63% have purchased paid applications, 5% downloaded only free apps and 32% have yet to download applications to their device!

Games, Books & Music accounted for the top downloaded paid applications.  The statistics also showed that in comparison to the iPhone, the iPad had a significantly greater amount of downloads for books, TV shows, movies and magazines.
