New Hampshire Public Radio Debuts iPhone App

Allows Fans to Access Content from NHPR and NHPR.org anywhere, anytime

NhprFor those who like to get their New Hampshire Public Radio (NHPR) information on-the-go, today NHPR announced that its iPhone app is now available to download through the iTunes Store. Now, Granite Staters and those interested in all things New Hampshire can experience all the content of NHPR and NHPR.org at their fingertips.

“We want to make sure that our programming is available to as many people as possible, in as many ways as possible” said Betsy Gardella, NHPR President and CEO. “The launch of the iPhone app demonstrates our commitment to ensuring that listeners can enjoy NHPR, day or night, wherever they happen to be — at their desk, in the car, or strolling around town. It is an exciting extension of our public service mission.”

Free to download, the NHPR iPhone app allows fans to listen to their favorite local and national programs like The Exchange, Word of Mouth and All Things Considered, live or on-demand from anywhere in the world through the searchable content library. The app also lets fans listen to live radio, archived shows, and podcasts as well as contact the NHPR membership department.

Fans can also search and browse the day’s big stories and read news articles in multiple categories like arts, books, economy, education, energy, etc. What’s more, the app’s audio layer allows fans to listen to local, national and international news through a speaker icon next to the listed articles. Meaning, fans can listen to their news anywhere, anytime.

"This marks the first of our mobile applications and the beginning of our expansion onto multiple mobile platforms," said John Forcucci Vice President, News and Digital Media. Forcucci joined NHPR in 2010 after over twenty years with the Boston Globe to help NHPR in its next era of growth as a media company. He commented, "Since our content already lends itself to the web, and that’s where many of our fans already go for their news, the iPhone app was an organic step for us in the digital space."

This iPhone app was underwritten, crafted and donated to NHPR by Zco Corporation of Hudson, NH. Zco Corporation offers services in Custom Software, Mobile App Development and 3D Animation.
