In a press event held at Apple’s headquarters in Cupertino on Wednesday, Steve Jobs revealed that the 19 million iPhone 4 users would now be able to connect their FaceTime feature to Mac OS laptops and desktop computers. Previously iPhone 4 users were restricted to video chatting amongst other iPhone 4 users.

Wednesday’s FaceTime for Mac announcement opens the opportunity for telecommunication between iPhone users and the tens of millions Mac OS users. Like similar video chat services such as Skype, FaceTime will be available for free (via apple.com).
