Adobe Systems Inc. is now making strides into the tablet market with its newest product line, the Creative Suite 5.5.

According to Adobe, the computer software appeals to mobile applications for Android, Blackberry, Table OS and iOS, and other platforms. Creative Suite 5.5 will incorporate a Design Premium Suite, which allows designers to create digital magazines, e-books, websites and mobile apps that display consistently across tablet devices. In addition, the Photoshop Touch Software Development Kit will allow developers to build tablet applications so that Google Android, RIM PlayBook and Apple iOS devices can interact with Photoshop.

Shantanu Narayen, president and chief executive officer of Adobe Systems, stated that the Creative Suite 5.5 is a big step and that generating content for non-PC devices is an area of focus.

The product line is set to be released in five editions, with prices ranging from $1,299 to $2,599. There will also be a subscription option for either a month-to-month plan or a full year.
